Terms of use
About these terms
VOTEPOT.lol is a public platform for comparing two sides and supporting a preference through paid votes. These terms govern your use of the website, the content you submit, and the voting service. “VOTEPOT,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator identified in the Contact section below.
By creating a battle or purchasing votes, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Paddle’s separate buyer terms apply to purchases made through its checkout.
Who can participate
To purchase votes or publish a battle, you must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement where you live and authorized to use the payment method you provide. You must comply with the laws that apply to your use of the service and provide accurate checkout information.
Browsing does not require an account or a purchase. Your browser session connects you to unfinished submissions. Clearing cookies, using a different browser, or sharing a device can affect access to those submissions. Keep your purchase receipt so a payment can be identified if you need assistance.
What you purchase
Each vote adds one to the selected side’s confirmed vote count and costs US$1 before applicable tax. You choose the battle, side, and number of votes before checkout. This is a one-time purchase, with no subscription or automatic renewal. The final amount, including any tax, is shown before you pay.
Votes count after we receive and verify payment confirmation. Preparing a vote, opening checkout, or a pending payment does not add votes to the board. Confirmation and displayed results may take a short time to update. Closing the page after paying does not cancel a completed purchase.
You may purchase more than one vote, including in separate purchases. Results measure paid votes, not unique voters or a representative sample of public opinion. A purchase does not guarantee a lead, a particular ranking, or how long a lead will last. Votes provide no prize, payout, ownership interest, or financial return, and are not a donation to the person or organization featured in a battle.
Creating and publishing a battle
When you create a battle, you submit two sides, a category, an optional question, and any images, emojis, or links you choose to include. Review these details and your starting vote before paying. A user-created battle is published after its starting vote payment is confirmed, subject to these content rules.
Until then, the battle remains a draft and is not listed on the public board. Uploaded images have public URLs even before a battle is published; do not use uploads for confidential material. Unpaid drafts and unused or replaced images may be removed once they are at least one hour old. Draft storage is temporary, and an unfinished checkout may become unavailable.
VOTEPOT may also publish curated battles with zero starting votes. Creating a battle does not give you ownership of its results or a right to keep it featured or published permanently.
Payments and refunds
Paddle acts as the authorized reseller and merchant of record for purchases through its checkout. Paddle handles the payment and purchase receipt under its Buyer Terms. VOTEPOT provides the battle and voting service.
For a duplicate charge, an unrecognized purchase, or a refund request, contact Paddle buyer support with the email address and transaction reference on your receipt. If a completed purchase has not added your votes or published your battle, contact us with the same details so we can investigate. Check your receipt before paying again.
Refunds and any right to withdraw from a purchase are governed by Paddle’s Refund Policy and applicable consumer law. We do not offer an additional guarantee of a refund because a preferred side loses or the result changes. This does not limit rights you may have for an undelivered or faulty service, or any other mandatory consumer rights.
When Paddle confirms a full refund to VOTEPOT, the corresponding votes are removed from the totals. Refunding a starting vote does not automatically delete the published battle. A refund request is separate from a request to remove content or personal information.
Your content and permissions
You are responsible for the names, questions, images, emojis, and links you submit. You must have the rights, permissions, or other lawful basis needed to share that material and allow its use on the board. Do not imply that you represent a person or organization without authorization.
You retain any rights you hold in your content. By submitting it, you grant VOTEPOT a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, copy, resize, and display it as needed to operate the service, including the public board and activity feed. This permission extends to providers helping us deliver the service; it does not transfer ownership of your content.
Participation rules
Keep comparisons lawful and respectful. You must not use VOTEPOT to:
- Threaten, harass, or incite hatred or violence against a person or group, or publish exploitative or unlawful content.
- Publish private information without permission, impersonate others, make defamatory claims, or infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Share scams, phishing links, malicious files, or misleading claims about an affiliation, endorsement, or reward.
- Use unauthorized payment details, falsify payment confirmations, tamper with vote totals, bypass safeguards, or disrupt the service through spam or abusive automated requests.
Buying multiple votes through the normal checkout is permitted. Manipulating the payment process or exploiting a technical fault to obtain votes is not.
Content reports and external links
We may remove or restrict content, archive a battle, or restrict access to address a breach of these terms, a security issue, or a legal requirement. A published battle is not a statement that we have verified its claims or approved its linked websites.
To report content or request a review of a moderation decision, contact us with the battle details, the material at issue, your reason, and supporting information. For a rights complaint, explain which rights are affected and your authority to make the request. We may ask for more information to assess it.
Side names, logos, and links are used to identify the subjects of a comparison. They do not imply sponsorship or endorsement. Links may open third-party websites in a new tab; those sites have their own terms, privacy practices, and content.
Availability and responsibility
The board may be unavailable during maintenance, interruptions, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Results may update after a delay and can change when new votes arrive, refunds are confirmed, or errors are corrected. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or the accuracy of user-submitted comparisons.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, or removes your statutory rights concerning the service you purchase. If a problem cannot be resolved with support, you retain the remedies available under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised terms here and provide additional notice or obtain agreement where required. Changes do not take away rights attached to an earlier purchase.
